    TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

    The department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at the University of Denver is seeking outstanding candidates for a new tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting September 2016. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, and demonstrated expertise in experimental biomechanics/biomaterials, specifically related to cadaveric/tissue testing and implant retrieval. New faculty are expected to develop high quality externally-funded research programs, and teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate will have an exciting opportunity to collaborate with faculty in the Center for Orthopaedic Biomechanics (www.du.edu/biomechanics) and Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility which includes a new cadaveric laboratory as well as excellent computational resources and a movement laboratory with both marker-based motion capture and high-speed stereo radiography.

    The Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science is in an exciting period of transformation and moving into a customized, 110,000 sq ft building as part of the extensive university investment in STEM education, research, and innovation. Incorporating an open design, the facility will house state-of-the-art technology labs, flexible classrooms, community spaces and interdisciplinary institutes and centers.
