    Post-Doctoral Fellow - Orthopedic Surgery

    Einstein Healthcare Network is a private, not for profit organization with several major facilities and many outpatient centers. Research has shown that smoking is dangerous to the health of smokers and to others. Einstein campuses are Tobacco and Smoke Free.In this role you will be responsible for:
    • The Fellow designs and executes in vivo and in vitro (cadaver) studies, collects and analyzes data, presents results, prepares, edits and publishes results
    • Collaborates with research mentor to prepare grants, presentations and publications, give semiannual didactic lectures on a research topic and assist in the IRB and IACUC application process, literature search and review
    • This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served (A/O)

    If you possess the following qualifications, please apply immediately:
    • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline with less than 3 years postdoc experience
    • Strong background in cadaver biomechanics, cell culture and/or animal models
    • Prior experience in bone biomechanics and animal research preferred
    • Ph.D. Biomedical Engineering, bioengineering or related discipline

    Physical Demands:
    • Physical Requirements: Long periods of sitting at a desk, computer or standing at workbench. Lifting, pulling research equipment, specimens. Walking to other locations in the institute and hospital facilities. May require travel to visit entities outside EHN
    • Visual Requirements: Extensive exposure and use of video and graphic computer displays
    • Hearing Requirements: Ability to participate in normal conversation
    • Working Conditions: The Bioengineering Laboratory is located in the Korman Building. The Laboratory is a busy professional environment. Contact with departmental and hospital personnel as well as patient/subjects and the public occurs on a regular basis
