    ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY

    The University of the Sciences (USciences) is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) in a full-time, 12-month tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will join the department at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and contribute to the delivery, development, and assessment of the musculoskeletal track in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. The Department of Physical Therapy is one of 5 programs housed in the Samson College of Health Sciences: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Exercise Physiology, and Health Sciences. The Department of Physical Therapy has 14 core faculty members engaged in a variety of clinical and scholarly activities. Along with recently renovated academic facilities, the Department has a comprehensive research lab and manages a pro-bono clinic that facilitates student learning.

    USciences is a private, independent, health-sciences university located in the University City section of Philadelphia with 2,500 undergraduate and first professional degree students and 350 graduate students.     The successful candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with an earned academic doctorate in a field relevant to physical therapy (PhD, DSc, or EdD). Candidates in the final phase of earning their terminal degree may be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with certification in advanced clinical competencies, e.g., American Board of Physical Therapy Specialist Certification (Orthopedics or Sports), advanced manual therapy certification, etc. The candidate should also have clinical experience, academic experience, and a demonstrated record of scholarship. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.

    Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; collaboration with other faculty in the musculoskeletal track to develop, enhance, and deliver musculoskeletal content in the DPT program; teaching in the musculoskeletal track and other foundational courses in the curriculum; facilitation of student capstone research projects; development and participation in research; working collaboratively with other core faculty, chairs, College of Health Sciences Dean, and other departments within the University; participating in service to the Department, College, and University, and student advising.
