The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa is accepting applications for one tenure-track faculty position in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or at a higher rank. In order to consolidate the areas of expertise and contribute to the ongoing development of the School, priority will be given to candidates with expertise in the field of rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders in both children and adults as well as in innovative intervention strategies in rehabilitation including assistive devices to optimize mobility.
Created in 1996, the School of Rehabilitation Sciences prepares the students for professional clinical practice in audiology, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and physiotherapy. The mission of the School is to train skilled health professionals to meet the needs of the Francophone population of Ontario and, more broadly, Francophone minority communities in the Canadian the bilingual and multicultural context. While providing outstanding professional education, we strive to position ourselves as leaders in research in the field of rehabilitation. The School favors innovative teaching approaches and provides continuity to a wide range of learning environments. The School of Rehabilitation Sciences is one of the five academic units the Faculty of Health Sciences, including Nursing, Nutrition Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Kinetics, and the Interdisciplinary School Health Sciences.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences or a related field.
- Postdoctoral experience in research or university professorial experience.
- Research potential or experience as demonstrated by scholarly achievements and the ability to develop and sustain a competitive scale research program.
- Eligibility to register with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario upon hire.
- Bilingualism: The ability to actively teach in French as well as function actively in both official languages.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaching at the graduate level (with the possibility of teaching at the undergraduate level).
- Develop and sustain a competitive, externally funded research program.
- Supervision of master’s and doctoral students.
- Contribute to the regular administrative processes.
- Leadership in the profession and discipline.
