    The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney is the largest and most comprehensive grouping of allied health professions, researchers and teachers in Australia, and is internationally recognised for quality and innovation in teaching and research.     The faculty’s Discipline of Exercise and Sports Science, known for its work in the application of exercise to health and human performance, is particularly committed to building on its strong academic and research credentials in the areas of exercise, health, and physical activity.


    We are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated professional to make a significant contribution to our research and teaching programs in exercise physiology at lecturer or senior lecturer level.


    In this role you will:
    • pursue a research program in the area of exercise physiology including grant acquisition, presentations and peer-reviewed publications
    • recruit and supervise postgraduate research students and contribute to the faculty’s academic program
    • teach into undergraduate and postgraduate courses in exercise science and exercise physiology, take on responsibility for unit of study coordination and contribute to curriculum development
    • contribute to administrative aspects of teaching and research.



    To succeed in this role you will have:
    • a PhD in exercise physiology and a broad understanding of exercise responses
    • expertise in l exercise physiology and its application to health, disease, and human performance (desirable)
    • a record of journal publications for appointment at Level B; an established publication record in high impact journals and demonstrated capacity for research grant acquisition for appointment at Level C
    • experience in research-led teaching of exercise science/physiology at the tertiary level
    • good communication skills; and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
    • previous experience in curriculum development and unity of study or course coordination (desirable at Level B; essential at Level C)
    • experience with research student supervision (desirable at Level B; essential at Level C)
    • ESSA accreditation in exercise physiology (or equivalent for international candidates) is highly desirable.
    • experience in the practice of exercise physiology in clinical settings (desirable).



    Level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.
