  • Master of Science in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion (EFHP) positions

    George Mason University graduate programs (Master of Science and PhD) welcomes applications from individuals that have a keen interest in pursuing an advance degree in the broad area of Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion, including Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Athletic Training, amongst others at the Masters and Doctoral level. Funding opportunities are available at the two graduate level programs.

    The Master of Science in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion (EFHP) Program is seeking individuals to pursue their master level graduate studies. Faculty research interests and potential funding are available in the following areas:
    1. Middle School Athletic Training services
    2. Graduate research assistantships with faculty
    3. Gait/running research and clinical outreach services via the Sports Medicine Assessment, Research & Testing (SMART) Laboratory
    4. Epidemiology, wearable sensors, and community outreach in youth leagues (e.g., football, lacrosse)
    5. Biomechanics and bio-imaging research in lower extremity injury prevention, and injury etiology
    6. Intercollegiate Athletics


    Required Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field
    2. For Athletic Training positions, proof of current BOC certification is required by the start date
    3. Virginia Athletic Training Licensure (or eligible to be licensed before start date)
    4. Ability to work week nights and weekends and travel as needed


    Note about funded positions:
    • Contingent upon funding
    • 6-months to yearly appointments with possibility of renewal
    • Renewal is dependent on performance evaulation and funding availabilty
    • Assistantship placements will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and interests
