    Personal Health Informatics and Rehabilitation Engineering (PHIRE) Laboratory, Department of Physical Therapy, Temple University

    We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to lead an extramurally funded project aimed at studying physical activity levels of individuals with spinal cord injury in the community. The project aims to develop algorithms that incorporate each individual’s physical activity level and a clinician’s physical activity recommendation. A smartphone application will incorporate these algorithms to help a person set safe and highly personalized physical activity goals.

    The candidate must have finished his or her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or interdisciplinary programs focusing on personal health informatics, have experience with development and evaluation of algorithms for sensor based activity monitors in people, have experience with project management for subject recruitment and testing, data collection, data management, statistical analysis and dissemination of project findings. In addition, the candidate will work closely with a number of project partners at other academic institutions and local hospitals. The candidate will be expected to manage PHIRE lab’s graduate and undergraduate students, and to maintain an active publication and conference travel portfolio.
