  • R&D Associate in body worn sensing technology (KTP Position)

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual with a Sports Science, Sports Technology/Engineering or related degree to fast-track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate. This partnership is between the University of Salford and SMARTLIFE a rapidly growing company who specialise in wearable technologies.

SMARTLIFE are set to become the market leaders in Smart wearable technology having developed textile sensor technology which can detect a range of biophysical signals, including ECG and movement. SMARTLIFE transmit these signals, via Bluetooth, to the user’s mobile phone and develop customised apps which can provide users with continuous physiological information and feedback on performance

During this KTP, you will work alongside computer scientists to enable SMARTLIFE to develop advanced algorithms for estimating energy expenditure and automatically recognising/characterising user’s activity patterns. In addition, you will further develop the capability of SMARTLIFE textile sensors so that they are able to detect EMG signals from sensors embedded into clothing. This work will enable SMARTLIFE to achieve their vision of becoming the leader in body worn sensor technologies.
