  • MSc and PhD Scholarships in Biomechanics at the University of Ottawa, Canada

The Motion analysis lab at University of Ottawa has funding for 1 PhD and 1 MSc scholarship under the supervision of Dr Julie Nantel https://health.uottawa.ca/people/nantel-julie. Funding is available for highly motivated students who want to take part in research looking into the neuromuscular control mechanisms involved in human locomotion and how we adapt to gait temporal or spatial constraints.

The ideal candidate should have a background in kinesiology (biomechanics or motor control), rehabilitation science, or biomedical engineering. Candidates applying for the PhD position should ideally have experience with motion capture, data analysis, and Matlab programming. Experience with the Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) system could be an asset.

    Interested students should send:
    1. A Curriculum Vitae
    2. A copy of all university transcripts
    3. A short Statement of Interest
    4. Contact information for two academic references. References will be checked and an on site or Skype interview will be conducted.
Send all your documents to Dr. Julie Nantel (jnantel@uottawa.ca).
