Exercise Science, Assistant/Associate Professor. Elon University invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Exercise Science, beginning mid-August, 2017. Completion of a PhD in exercise science, kinesiology, or closely related field before August 2017 is preferred. These positions require someone who brings an interdisciplinary perspective to exercise science, who can demonstrate significant and sustained teaching related to exercise science, whose research agenda is translational to the undergraduate setting, and expands on the department’s current expertise. This may include exercise physiology, nutrition, biostatistics/bioinformatics or the neuroscience of movement. Candidates possessing experience and expertise with community based or clinical research interventions or work in special and diverse populations are strongly encouraged to apply. Teaching will include courses in the Exercise Science program, and courses in Elon’s General Studies Program.
The Exercise Science Department is one of the largest departments in the College of Arts and Sciences with over 280 majors. Faculty are actively engaged in mentoring undergraduate research in a variety of areas including: multidisciplinary concussion research; dance biomechanics; performance enhancement; energy metabolism and body composition and neuromotor control and learning in special populations to name a few.
