    Job Summary
    The School of Sport & Exercise Science invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor, with an expertise in motor behavior. Responsibilities will include teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses in motor behavior and contributing to other areas within the current exercise science curriculum based on the candidate’s background. In addition to teaching, successful candidates will be expected to conduct research and pursue extramural funding to support research activities. Mentoring of graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D.), advising undergraduate students, and providing service to the profession, university and community are also expected.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Earned doctorate with a specialization in motor behavior or closely related field. The ability to teach neurophysiology-based motor control is required. Candidates who are considered ABD will be considered, but all doctoral requirements must be completed by the start date of the position.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Preference will be given to applicants that have experience teaching undergraduate courses in motor behavior and possess the ability to teach a movement disorders/pathophysiology course and motor learning and development. Preference will be given to those candidates with a willingness to pursue interdisciplinary research, including collaborations with faculty at UNC and/or other institutions. Expertise in postural stability and/or control, neuromechanics of gait, and/or cancer-related research is desirable. Please address all minimum and preferred qualifications in the cover letter.

    Salary and Benefits:
    Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position. Opportunities for summer instruction may be available.
