Position Overview:
Motus is currently seeking sports minded individuals to fill Spring 2017 internship positions in biomechanical data analysis and computational modeling at their Florida Lab. This position would begin in January of 2017 and run for no more than 6 months, ending in June 2017. These positions are tailored for all levels of undergraduate and graduate students who have the capability to learn in a fast paced environment. Individuals will work closely with Motus staff assisting in data collection, post-processing motion capture data, and developing state of the art biomechanical assessments. Positions requires a minimum of 30 hours a week. The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for sports, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work on a fast pace environment.
Major Duties:
-Setting up mobile labs for 3D motion capture in various sports and environments including: baseball pitching, baseball batting, golf, tennis, functional movement screening, lacrosse, hockey, football, sprinting, running, and soccer applications.
-Assist with mation capture data collection (marker placement, administration of test protocols, etc).
-Participate in data post-processing and operate Motus’ software to generate 3D kinematics and kinetics data on a variety of sports motions.
-Develop and maintain software routines (using MATLAB) for data acquisition and analysis and mathematical modeling.
-Provide feedback and recommendations on new research project ideas, and the development of new test protocols.
Requirements:
-Working on degree in Biomechanics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technology field.
-Previous experience with MATLAB programming.
-Previous experience with motion capture equipment.
-Experience with biomechanics, anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, strength & conditioning, web development, database management, or statistical analysis
