Position Description
The Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Human Motor Behaviour. The appointment date for the successful candidate is anticipated to be July 2017.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will bring a record of achievement commensurate with appointment at an Assistant Professor level, have earned a PhD in Human Motor Behavior, be at an early phase of their academic career, have demonstrated success in research publication, and potential for securing external funding through national agencies such as CIHR, NSERC, and/or sport related agencies. The successful applicant will have an emerging research program with a focus on decision-making, motor adaptation and/or skill learning. The ideal candidate will combine behavioral, computational and/or neurophysiological techniques to study human motor learning and/or motor control. The successful applicant will also have demonstrated competence in translating their research to applied fields in sport, medicine, and other motor performance fields.
The candidate will have the potential to become a leader in their research field with a plan for significant contribution to the Faculty of Kinesiology in high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate student supervision and mentorship, training of postdoctoral fellows, and service. There is the possibility of a joint appointment within the University.
