  • M.S. Assistantships for Fall 2017 - Appalachian State University

    The Department of Health and Exercise Science at the Appalachian State University is accepting applications for MS graduate students for Fall 2017. There are a limited number of graduate assistantships awarded on a competitive basis across all areas of Exercise Science. Specifically, Dr Jeff McBride and Dr Herman van Werkhoven are actively engaged in biomechanics research.

    Dr McBride's research focuses on: i) stretch-shortening cycle function in jumping, running and hopping, and ii) athletic performance relating to muscle power.

    Dr van Werkhoven’s research focuses on: i) investigating the relationship between musculoskeletal structure and function, especially in the lower extremities, and ii) exploring novel performance analysis techniques to assist athletes, coaches and practitioners.

Apart from research assistantships and teaching assistantships there are also a limited number of out-of-state tuition waivers awarded on a competitive basis.
