The Movement Control Rehabilitation Laboratory (www.mocorelab.com) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology has an opening for a full-time doctoral student or postdoctoral researcher to start in September 2017.
The individual will contribute to research that investigates sensorimotor mechanisms and innovative rehabilitation solutions for neuromuscular disorders such as stroke. Methods will include simulation-based control of exoskeletons for gait restoration and cognitive virtual-reality therapy for improved hand function. Key skills for this work include biomechanics, clinical experience, Matlab/Simulink/C/LabView programming, and effective written and spoken communication.
The position is fully-funded for two years. For doctoral students, additional funding will be sought via available intramural and extramural sources.
