The Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the University of Regina is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, academic leader to fill a tenure track Assistant Professor position in its growing Human Kinetics program. We are seeking a scholar who can assist with the achievement of our Strategic Priorities that include ensuring Student Success through Quality Programs, Academics & Research; and connecting to our Community.
Our future colleague will have earned a PhD in Human Kinetics, Kinesiology or related discipline and will have demonstrated a passion and ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses associated with the Human Kinetics major. Your research will assist you in teaching potential courses in anatomy, human physiology, exercise physiology, exercise prescription, rehabilitation, or athlete health and performance. Our future colleague will contribute to a growing research cluster focused in the area of Athlete Health and Performance, and demonstrate the ability to establish an active research profile that includes: research publications, graduate student mentorship, and securing external funding through provincial or national granting agencies (e.g., CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC) and/or sport related agencies (e.g., Own the Podium, Sport Canada). Our future colleague will provide evidence of a focused and viable research program that could align with one or more of these Athlete Health & Performance focus areas: musculoskeletal physiology; exercise metabolism and sport nutrition; neurobiology and mental training; strength and conditioning; sports medicine; or biomechanics and motor control.
