  • Tenure - Track Position in Physcical Therapy at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

    The Physical Therapy Program at University of Wisconsin – La Crosse invites qualified persons to apply for full-time, 9-month tenure track assistant professor position available August 2017.
    New or established educator in neurologic physical therapy with teaching experience and scholarly agenda to complement the existing faculty is desired. The DPT program supports a variety of scholarly and clinical research opportunities (EXPAND - Exercise Program for Adults with Neurologic Disorders and LIMS- La Crosse Institute of Movement Science).
    TenureTrack Required Criteria:The successful candidate must:
    1. be licensed to practice physical therapy in a US jurisdiction.
    2. Candidates should have or be near to completing a terminal scholarly degree (PhD, DSc, EdD, or equivalent) by the start date. Degree must be earned by the first personnel review, no later than May 15, 2018.
    3. have a minimum of three years of clinical experience in adult neurological rehabilitation.

    TenureTrack Desired Criteria: The successful candidate should:
    1. demonstrate experience in higher education
    2. demonstrate ability to collaborate with a variety of professionals within the university setting or clinical settings
    3. demonstrate ability to present a positive and professional attitude when dealing with students, clinical staff, patients, and local community and the national professional community
    4. possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational and time management skills
    5. have a developing line of scholarly inquiry within the scope of neurologic rehabilitation

    The Physical Therapy Program is part of the Department of Health Professions which includes Medical Dosimetry, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Radiation Therapy. Our program consists of 11 dynamiccore faculty and a strong complement of adjunct faculty. We are committed to mentoring new faculty inteaching and scholarship.The department is located in the College of Science and Health.
    The Physical Therapy Program is housed in the Health Science Center (HSC), recognized for its spacious, well-appointed teaching labs, classrooms, and established biomechanics, human performance, and anatomy laboratories. Our physical therapy program has strong alliances with national, regional, and local medical centers and practices. The program is proud to support the La Crosse Institute of Movement Science (LIMS), Exercise Program for Adults with Neurologic Disorders (EXPAND) and the Gundersen Sports Medicine Residency Program.
