    announces the availability of a
    full-time, tenure-track faculty position
    in the DPT Program
    School of Health Sciences
    Department of Physical Therapy Education

    The Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) at Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position, made available because of retirement. The department of 14 full-time and 4 part-time highly qualified, dynamic faculty is interested in recruiting an individual who can demonstrate clinical and teaching experience in musculoskeletal physical therapy. The successful candidate will also have an ongoing research agenda related to musculoskeletal physical therapy, rehabilitation/movement science, biomechanics, and/or motor control. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarship, and department and university service. The successful candidate is expected to have effective interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to graduate education and professional growth.

    The successful candidate will have:
    · A record of teaching and scholarship
    · Eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in North Carolina
    · A minimum of 3 years of clinical practice
    · Active membership in professional organizations

    Preferred candidates will also have:
    · An academic terminal degree (e.g PhD, DSc, EdD)
    · Active leadership in a professional organization
    · Residency or fellowship training or ABPTS certification

    The start date for this position is negotiable, with preference that the successful candidate start before August 1, 2017.

    About the Department: In 2012, the DPTE moved to the LEED-certified Gerald L. Francis Center where the newly formed School of Health Sciences is located. The DPTE occupies approximately 32,000 square feet with state-of-the-art equipment for teaching and research, including but not limited to: MSK ultrasound, DEXA scanner, Strength and Balance measuring systems, a 3D motion capture system which includes 12 cameras and a 16-channel wireless EMG system, plus two force plates for gait analysis, instrumented walkways, and a body weight support rehabilitation system. The DPTE and the School of Health Sciences enjoy a strong collaborative partnership with Cone Health-Alamance Regional Medical Center.
