Boston University’s College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College and the Neuromotor Recovery Laboratory are seeking individuals with doctoral training in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Movement Science, or a related field to join a multidisciplinary research team focused on the development and testing of targeted locomotor rehabilitation approaches for individuals with neurologically-based walking impairments. Several positions ranging from postdoctoral fellow to research faculty are available, depending on the applicant’s previous experience, current position, and evidence of independence.
The successful applicant will have access to a 1300 ft2 state-of-the-art clinical research and motion capture laboratory located in the outstanding clinical environment of Boston University’s top ranking rehabilitation professional programs and its interdisciplinary PhD program in Rehabilitation Sciences. He/She will work alongside research faculty to prepare funding proposals, design and execute research studies, disseminate research findings through manuscripts and presentations, and mentor undergraduate and graduate scholars.
Eligibility for physical therapy licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is highly desired, but not required. Individuals without formal clinical training should have extensive prior experience working with clinical populations. Experience with ultrasound imaging or neuroimaging are also highly desired.
Applications should be submitted as a single PDF and include a cover letter describing the applicant's training, research interests, and career goals; a complete curriculum vitae; and the names and positions of 3 referents.
Applications can be emailed to: Lou Awad, PT, DPT, PhD (louawad@bu.edu).
