    Required expertise:
    A post-doctoral fellowship is available. Candidates should have a background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or computer science.
    The candidates should have expertise in Human Robot Interaction, signal processing, machine learning, and real-time software applications. Note that this is a highly interdisciplinary project where tangible results should be obtained.
    Candidates should be interested in working with a team doing hands-on activities.
    Project description
    The project focuses on improving human-robot cooperation and safety in shared workplaces for assembly lines in the automotive industry. The project is on its early stages and the team is working on making new discoveries in the field. The focus is to pair force-myography (http://www.medengphys.com/article/S1...17-6/abstract) and robotics to improve human-robot interaction and human safety. The project is supported by the Automotive Partnerships Canada (www.apc-pac.ca)

    Menrva Lab:
    The Menrva lab is a highly productive research group (about 30 publications per year) primarily focusing on Bionics. The lab is directed by Dr. Carlo Menon, Professor, Tier 1 Canadia Research Chair in Biomedical Technology. Dr. Menon received the Career Investigator Award from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research and the New Investigator Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
