At APDM, our mission is to develop and commercialize best-in-class solutions for quantifying human movement with wearable technologies. Our foundational technology, the Opal, has been deployed to over 600 universities worldwide, and is considered the gold standard in wearable technology. Building on that foundational technology, we are beginning to market our first solution for the biomechanics industry, Moveo Explorer. It is a full-stack solution for those who want to measure kinematics in any environment, unobtrusively. We are looking for a strong team member who would like to help develop APDM’s next brand. It will be fun, but challenging work.

APDM is a unique organization because we a commercial/research hybrid. We currently have over $7MM in development funding to create new digital health solutions (from hardware, software, and algorithm). This funding is from NIH, DOD, and fortune 500 companies. Candidates for this position will be the voice of the customer and play a significant role in defining new products. This is why we stress creativity as an asset.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to technically articulate, both verbally and written, APDM’s products with an emphasis on the biomechanics market
• Self motivated to go find customers, not wait for them to come to you
• High integrity, willingness to recommend a competitive product if it better for the customer
• Passionate about helping the customer find and implement a solution
• Creative problem solver
• Up to 50% travel, domestic and international (<25% typical)

Ideal Requirements

• Experience in with inertial sensors
• Experience in the biomechanics market
• BS or higher Biomechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Kinesiology
• Experience with programming (Matlab, C++, and/or Python)

Location: Portland, OR preferred (remote working is negotiable for top candidates)

Commitment: Full-time
Pay: Salary + commission
Benefits: Medical, dental, vacation/holiday, and sick pay
Citizenship: Eligible to work in US
