    The School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Montana invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor faculty position that is open due to retirement. The candidate for this position is responsible for teaching, research and service to support the missions of the School, College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences and the University.

    Primary teaching needs include Neuroscience and Research Methods. Secondary teaching needs presently met by adjunct faculty include Pediatrics, Psychology of Illness, and Prosthetics&Orthotics. Opportunities exist for a well-qualified candidate to teach in their area of expertise and interests. In addition, successful candidates will be expected to have evidence of a strong research program that enhances current initiatives within the School, College and University.

    A qualified candidate could also be considered for research and leadership contributions within the Neural Injury Center (NIC). The NIC is engaged in inter-professional, collaborative brain injury research as well as public and clinical education related to neural injuries.

    The School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science is highly regarded for its academic, clinical practice and research programs. The School hosts four productive research laboratories with local, regional, national and international collaborations. In addition, clinical practice and research opportunities exist within the Neural Injury Center and the Nora Staael Evert Clinic, which serve clients related to sports, orthopedics, neurologic and mobility impairments.     Minimum Qualifications
    • Earned terminal academic doctorate or medical doctorate degree
    • Evidence of scholarship, including publications in peer-reviewed journals
    • Teaching experience in undergraduate or graduate programs
    • Capable of acquiring extramural funding
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
    • Ability to collaborate, solve problems and be flexible
    • Demonstrated ability to learn, develop and apply new technologies


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Postdoctoral experience
    • Established record of obtaining extramural funding
    • Leadership and administrative experience
    • MT Licensed Physical Therapist OR Eligible for Physical Therapy Licensure in the State of Montana
