We are looking for an excellent candidate who will undertake a one-year Post-doc on Functional recovery after total hip replacement.
The successful candidate will contribute to a research project on objective evaluation of functional recovery after total hip replacement. The researcher will work at the University of Geneva / Geneva University Hospitals in the Willy Taillard Laboratory of Kinesiology.
The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team composed by human movement scientists, orthopaedic surgeons and epidemiologists.

Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Fusion medical imaging (EOS) with gait analysis,
- Extract imaging parameters (EOS, MRI),
- Assist the recruitment of participants for the different assessments: Questionnaires, Clinical Gait Analysis, imagery (EOS, MRI), inertial sensors (gait evaluation in daily life),
- Administer Clinical Gait Analysis (Optoelectronic system, forceplate, EMG),
- Write and present scientific communications,
- Assist with preparing grant applications,
- Assist other researchers.
The ideal candidate will have a:
- Background in biomechanics or related fields,
- Expertise in Matlab or Python,
- Fluency in English and in French,
- Ability to work independently and as a team member,
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfort working with people, and sensitivity towards an older and/or impaired adult population,
- Excellent written communication skills,
- Completed his/her PhD in the above areas less than 5 years ago.
The additional skills and experience that will be considerate as a plus:
- Experience with motion analysis data collection/analysis, imaging, statistics,
- Experience with musculoskeletal modelling and simulation (OpenSim),
