Within the Faculty of Engineering Technology, the Department of Biomechanical Engineering (www.utwente.nl/en/et/bw/) is specialised in the application area of Biomedical Technology, integrating the tools of several mechanical engineering disciplines in the study of aspects of human functioning. The Department has strong research lines in biorobotics, human-machine interfacing and the mechanics of biological tissue. The Department has access to excellent infrastructure, such as the DesignLab (www.utwente.nl/designlab/), the Rapid Prototyping Lab (www.utwente.nl/rpl/) and several research and construction labs.
