Since our incorporation in 2012, Athos has been translating EMG into a simple and powerful training system using our wearable technology. From cueing muscle activations, evaluating movement progressions, and monitoring the accumulation of stress on your muscles throughout training, our system will help athletes reach their highest potential. By giving athletes and coaches this unprecedented insight into muscle performance in any setting, they can get a better understanding of the internal muscular loads being generated within the body during any movements or postures.

Research Scientist This role requires you to be invested in exercise science and research to understand how our product can be best leveraged to build better athletes by improving performance while also helping in prevention and recovery. We’re looking for a highly motivated and talented candidate to join our team who’s passionate about the intersection of athletics, exercise/movement science and the research process. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience to lead research projects spanning from small pilot data collections to peer reviewed manuscripts. We are looking for someone who can drive research efforts starting from formulating the most important research questions for the company to address by working with our marketing and business teams. They will then design the experiments, coordinate data collection and processing efforts, and work to disseminate the results in various formats (from internal company memos and presentations to peer reviewed manuscript publications).

Our Ideal Candidate Has:
- Ph.D. and/or Postdoctoral Fellowship in Exercise Science (Physiology/Biomechanics/Rehabilitation Sciences) or comparable program
- 2+ years of industry experience preferred
- Programming and data analysis expertise
- Experience with python scientific packages
- Strong background in statistics and proven practical application to answer product questions
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Background in and passion for sport, exercise, athletics, and human movement
You Will:
- Lead research experiments and studies to support product developments grounded in sport/exercise science
- Lead case studies to build sport science context to help coaches and athletes make performance decisions with our product
- Publish research results in top-tier journals and build academic partnerships
- Work with internal teams and industry experts to formulate product questions and prioritization
- Formulate study data into results, learnings and next steps
- Manage multiple projects in parallel
- Project planning and working cross functionally to set expectations on resources and timeline
