Position Description: Animal Biomechanist
This is a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences. Teaching responsibilities may include teaching courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology (BI 201 & 202), Biological Principles (BI 171 &172), Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy (BI 323) and an upper division biology course which represents an area of specialty. The development of an undergraduate research program is required. Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D.

Carroll College, a Catholic, coeducational and comprehensive liberal arts college in Helena, Montana, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR to begin in August 2018. We seek a broadly trained animal biomechanist with a strong commitment to teaching at an undergraduate institution. Primary teaching responsibilities may include one semester of human anatomy and physiology, one semester of biological principles, a one-semester course in comparative vertebrate anatomy, and an upper-level course in an area of specialty. Other teaching responsibilities may include a non-major’s life sciences course. The successful candidate: 1) will have a demonstrated ability to teach biomechanics and animal anatomy/physiology; 2) will be open to using evidence based effective teaching strategies similar to those outlined in Vision and Change in Undergraduate Biology Education: A Call to Action; 3) will be willing to collaborate within and across departments; 4) will develop an externally funded undergraduate research program in biomechanics; and 5) will have earned a Ph.D. by August 2018.
