  • Call for Associate Editor(s) - Sports Biomechanics journal

    Dear Biomechanics Colleagues,

    [Original link: http://explore.tandfonline.com/cfp/b...aign=JMH01924]

On behalf of the Search Committee for the Call for Associate Editor(s), I invite you to self-nominate or nominate whoever appropriate to serve as Associate Editor for Sports Biomechanics, official journal of The International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS).

ISBS was founded in 1982. To date, we have members / conference participants from over 50 countries. In 2002, Dr Ross Sanders started the Sports Biomechanics journal as the founding editor and the first issue was published by the Edinburgh University Press. In 2004, Dr Roger Bartlett took up the position as the editor of the journal. In 2006, the journal started to publish with Taylor & Francis and was indexed by Thomson Reuter in Scientific Citation Index Expanded, Journal Citation Reports and Web of Knowledge. From 2007, Dr Young-Hoo Kwon served as the editor, and we have increased the number of issues per year to 3 in 2007 to 4 in 2009. In 2014, Dr Daniel Fong took up the Editor-in-Chief role. The journal gained its first impact factor as 0.451 in 2008 and its current impact factor in 2016 is 0.826.

We are now calling for Associate Editor(s) to serve the journal. Candidates should have good record in scholarly paper publishing, reviewing, and editing in applied biomechanics of sports and exercise. A good record in reviewing for Sports Biomechanics will be an advantage. Candidates do not need to be a current ISBS member but will be encouraged to participate more in ISBS conferences. The duties include handling of submissions to the journal, invitation of reviewers for each submission, recommendations to accept good quality papers, and promotion of the journals, etc.

Interested individuals should prepare (1) a short curriculum vitae with emphasis on peer-reviewed publications in sports and exercise biomechanics, (2) a summary or a list of record of reviewing scholarly papers for related journals, and/or (3) any additional information which will help the Search Committee to give an objective assessment for the current application.

Email the abovementioned material to Dr Daniel Fong, Editor-in-Chief, Sports Biomechanics, at d.t.fong@lboro.ac.uk, on or before 31 August 2017. The Search Committee will start the selection process in September 2017 and will announce the selection results as soon as possible. Successful candidate(s) will receive some training on the review process and the use of the online submission system, and will officially start the appointment in January 2018.

For enquiries please contact Dr Daniel Fong at d.t.fong@lboro.ac.uk or twitter @dtpfong.
