FORENSIC INJURY BIOMECHANICS – GOLDEN, COLORADO
Position Description: The position can be either an entry-level position for someone with little or no forensic experience (but with injury biomechanics background as noted below) or a mid- or high-level position for someone with forensic consulting and/or expert witness testifying experience.
The work primarily involves occupant injury biomechanics analyses in automobile collisions integrating vehicle collision dynamics, occupant dynamics, injury mechanics, and restraint system use and effectiveness. It requires the ability to work individually and as part of a team. Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required. Candidates should have the desire to continue to learn and the ability to acquire, integrate, and apply knowledge. Degree Requirements: M.S. or Ph.D. in Biomechanical/BiomedicalEngineering, Biomechanics/Kinesiology, or a closely related science (e.g. MechEng with specialty in Biomechanics).
Required Background: Candidates should have some background and experience in several of the following areas either as part of an academic program or work-related experience: automotive safety, vehicle collision dynamics, occupant injury biomechanics, crash injury prevention, crash injury databases (e.g. NASS-CDS), computer modeling (e.g. FEA), sport injury biomechanics.
