We are currently advertising for one post-doctoral fellow. Minimum salary is $45k/year for a maximum of 1 year. Additional salary top-up may be available dependent upon other available funding. General eligibility requirements for this opportunity
- An earned PhD in the last 3 years in the field of Kinesiology (Biomechanics, Neuromuscular Physiology), Human Movement Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines from an accredited university;
- Knowledge and application of musculoskeletal biomechanics and human movement, as demonstrated by contributions, such as (but not limited to) peer reviewed publications, conference proceedings, technology transfer and other knowledge transfer activities;
- An interest in pursuing academic research in partnership with industry as needed
- Eligibility to work in Canada is required. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are preferred, but foreign applications are more than welcome.
- Ability to demonstrate (through a cover letter and CV) expertise requirements as defined below; and
- Available to begin work as soon as Jan 1st, 2018. This opportunity will stay open until the position is filled.
PDF Position
- Doctorate in the area of Kinesiology (Biomechanics, Neuromuscular Physiology), Human Movement Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
- Highly experienced in designing, collecting, and analyzing 3D biomechanical data during human movement, including experience with motion capture, force plates, pressure pads, insole force sensors, wearable sensors; experience in multisegment foot kinematics/kinetics is desirable;
- Highly experienced in designing, collecting and analyzing surface electromyography (EMG), isokinetic dynamometry, and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), etc; experience in high-density EMG systems is desirable;
- Experienced in human movement biomechanics and physiology data analysis and related computer programming (Visual 3D, Matlab/Simulink, OpenSIM, etc.);
- Experience that includes the above with rehabilitation technologies for assisting mobility and/or agility of people with neurological or musculoskeletal disorders is preferred.
