The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin seeks outstanding applicants for tenured and tenure-track faculty positions in any emerging area in Mechanical Engineering. Applicants are sought at the rank of Assistant and Full Professor. General areas of interest include, but are not limited to 1) real-time estimation and control with applications in robotics, automation, healthcare and manufacturing; 2) large-scale computation for simulation, parameter identification, design, and control of complex systems; 3) advanced sensors and metrology; 4) advanced manufacturing and design; and 5) mechanobiology. Other emerging areas will be considered.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences related to the area and a record of high accomplishment with a clearly upward career trajectory. For senior hires, evidence of leadership in directing multi-investigator research programs is essential. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong sponsored research program, supervise graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.
