Post-doctoral/research associate position at the ShirleyRyan Abilitylab (formerly RIC)/Northwestern University
A post-doctoral research associate position is now availableat the Legs and walking lab at the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab (formerly the RehabilitationInstitute of Chicago).The candidatewill work on two projects currently conducted in the lab, which are focusing onimproving balance and locomotor functionin humans with spinal cord injury and individuals post stroke throughrobot-assisted gait training.Bothprojects are funded by NIH.Opportunitiesalso exist to interact in collaborative research with other engineering andneuroscience faculty at the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab, and NorthwesternUniversity.

The Legs and walking lab at the Shirley Ryan Ability isdevoted to the study of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and sensory disordersthat are associated with abnormal control of posture and walking.Faculty members have appointments in theNorthwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and in the NorthwesternUniversity Engineering School.Faculty,post-doctoral research associates, graduate students, and support staff make upa unique team of physicians, engineers, mathematicians, physiologists, andoccupational & physical therapists for the study of motor and sensorydysfunctions.
