The Applied Biomechanics Laboratory (abl.bme.unc.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has an immediate opening for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to help conduct projects related to our work detecting and mitigating walking balance impairment due to aging and neurodegenerative disease. These projects are supported by grants from NIH and the National MS Society, and are being conducted in collaboration with UNC Healthcare and the UNC Department of Exercise and Sports Science and Division of Physical Therapy.
The successful candidate will have completed their Ph.D. in areas closely related to the biomechanics and neural control of human movement. Research experience and strong technical skills in human motion analysis, electromyography, motor control or motor learning, and metrics of locomotor stability are highly desirable. Excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills are required. The position is funded for an initial period of 1 year with the possibility for renewal.
