We currently seek an entry-level Biomechanical Engineer in our south Florida office. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking to branch out and explore the world of forensic consulting. This position will work closely with our Principal Consultant to support our rapid growth. The successful candidate will apply the knowledge of biomechanical engineering to determine injury potential/causation in various accidents or incidents such as vehicular accidents, amusement park ride accidents, and cases involving falls or falling objects.
Responsibilities
· Reviews and summarizes various materials (e.g., photographs, witness statements, depositions, police reports, medical records, etc.)
· Locates and applies research of pertinent literature and governmental regulations.
· Analyzes vehicular accidents, mechanical failures, and reconstructs vehicular accidents.
· Conducts human motion and injury impact analyses. Analyzes injuries resulting from automobile, industrial, marine, and recreational accidents.
· Applies mathematical and empirical methods of analyses.
· Conducts on-site vehicle examinations.
· Travel required as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Master degree in Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a research focus in biomechanics is required.
· Experience in injury biomechanics is preferred.
· Experience in human motion analysis is preferred.
· Experience in vehicular safety design or automotive industry is a plus.
