    2018 Biomedical Engineering REU Summer Internships
    The School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (SBES) at Wake Forest University announces 10-week paid summer research internships for undergraduate students. This unique collaboration between Wake Forest University and Virginia Tech provides our students with a rich environment that encourages engineering research focused on relevant clinical and biomedical problems. The program this year includes projects from many different disciplines from several faculty within BME. Our Center for Injury Biomechanics (CIB) investigates injury mechanisms following trauma to develop a greater understanding of human tolerance to injury, to engineer enhanced safety countermeasures, and to mitigate the occurrence of serious injury in society. The center uses a multidisciplinary approach to solving real-world biomechanics problems, combining the biomedical expertise at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with Virginia Tech’s top-rated college of Engineering. The program will provide students with a stipend, meals, and Wake Forest campus housing.
