The Cognitive-Motor Learning Laboratory at Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute (MRRI) located in Elkins Park, PA, has an opening for a Research Assistant beginning in January 2018. Under the direction of Aaron Wong, Ph.D., the laboratory investigates how people acquire skilled actions through investigation of the interactions between the motor system and cognition. This research involves motion tracking of the eyes and upper extremities, and computational modeling approaches. The RA will gain valuable experience with all stages of the scientific process spanning experiment conception and design through data analysis and presentation. Specifically, the RA will learn to design experiments, write experimental control software for passive kinematics recordings and active robotic perturbations of the limb, and collect and analyze clinical and behavioral data from healthy controls and neurological patients. Furthermore, the RA will assist in the composition of manuscripts for publication and posters for conference presentations. MRRI is internationally known for its research in neuroscience and neuro-rehabilitation, and the position offers competitive salary and benefits (medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement).
