Position: Biomechanics Analyst

Description:
The Tampa Bay Rays baseball organization is seeking an experienced biomechanist to coordinate all organizational efforts for quantifying the mechanics of baseball performance using both traditional and novel forms of assessment. This unique position offers the opportunity to integrate kinematic and kinetic analyses with other baseball performance science, analytics, player development, and medical initiatives, all aimed at improving the performance and well-being of players across the entire Rays organization.

Candidate Qualifications:
  • A graduate level degree is required in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting camera based motion analysis research is required, with experience in the areas of sports and/or injury biomechanics preferred.
  • Expertise in various software packages including SQL, Visual3D, R, Python, MATLAB and/or LabVIEW.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse team of individuals from all across the organization including baseball performance scientists, analytics staff, sports medicine personnel, front office personnel, coaches, and scouting staffs.
  • Ability to explore new technologies that may provide novel, impactful value to the organization.


Compensation:
Compensation commensurate with experience.
