Funded PhD position in sensorimotor control and learning, University of Calgary
Description: We are recruiting a PhD student for a funded position in human sensorimotor control and learning. The successful candidate will develop and lead projects examining how basic aspects of sensory processing influence human motor control and learning. Proficiency in mathematics and programming are required because experiments will combine robotics platforms and neurophysiological techniques. The student will be responsible for designing experiments and programming our robotic device, recruiting and interacting with participants, data analysis and drafting manuscripts. The successful candidate will also present the results of their projects at scientific meetings. An MSc in sensorimotor neuroscience, human motor control and learning or engineering/mathematics is required, preferably with a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
Our lab is located at the University of Calgary in Calgary, AB, Canada. The successful candidate will become part of a vibrate research and training environment in the Faculty of Kinesiology (http://www.ucalgary.ca/knes/) and Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary (http://www.hbi.ucalgary.ca). Details about position: The anticipated start date for this position is Spring/Summer 2018 but no later than September 2018.
