    The Department of Physical Therapy at East Carolina University is seeking candidates for a full-time, 12 month tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a productive and competitive research agenda. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the candidateís area(s) of expertise and interest, commensurate with departmental needs.

    The Department of Physical Therapy has strong administrative support, excellent teaching and clinical facilities, and attracts top quality students. Three well-equipped research labs are also maintained by the department and existing PT faculty are in place to collaborate on three-dimensional movement analysis, musculoskeletal modeling, postural control, and blood and muscle analysis research. More information regarding our movement analysis research instrumentation and laboratory facilities may be found at the following site: The departmentís 13 full-time faculty members all contribute to the fully-accredited three year Doctor of Physical Therapy program with 30 students admitted annually. Opportunities for clinical involvement are available through the departmentís faculty practice. The Department is also developing a concentration in Movement Sciences and Disorders within the existing Rehabilitation Sciences Ph.D. degree program.

    East Carolina University is located in Greenville, North Carolina. Greenville is the cultural, educational, medical, and economic center of Eastern North Carolina. The Greenville/Pitt County area has a population of approximately 175,000 and is one hour from the Research Triangle to the west and the Crystal Coast to the east. East Carolina University (29,000 students) is part of a vibrant health care community including Vidant Medical Center which houses the regional trauma and rehabilitation centers serving 29 counties. The ECU College of Allied Health Sciences has strong working relationships with the ECU College of Health and Human Performance, College of Engineering and Technology, Brody School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, and East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute. ECU is home to both Army and Air Force ROTC programs and is in proximity to Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine, and Navy bases. The Department of Physical Therapy is in close proximity to the College of Nursing, Brody School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, and Vidant Medical Center.
