    The University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) is seeking a student focused, "hands-on", highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as our HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER AND LECTURER. The focus of this position will be to be responsible for supervising the medical care of all student athletes which includes coordinating the prevention, care and rehabilitation of athletically related injuries to student athletes. In addition, the incumbent will teach two courses each semester for our Kinesiology program.

    The successful candidate will have proven leadership experience capable of working as part of a fast-paced, results-oriented team. Is able to create and a culture and environment that supports and promotes the overall wellness plan and implement a comprehensive athletic injury prevention program for our UTPB athletes. Is a successful communicator and educator.

    Candidates must possess a master's degree in physical education or other appropriate discipline required, doctorate degree preferred. Has National Athletic Trainer's Association certification (NATA) and State of Texas Licensure (or eligible for licensure). A minimum of five years of previous Athletic Training or other relevant sports medicine experience. The ability to teach courses in Exercise Science. A strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept and a working knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations is required. Current CPR, First Aid and AED certification required. Ability to travel both by car, bus and plane. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
