Pepperdine University's Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, located in Malibu, California, invites applications for a one-year appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor of Sports Medicine beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year. With successful performance, the appointment is renewable for subsequent academic years. Applicants who have completed a Ph.D. in kinesiology or in an equivalent field, with an emphasis in biomechanics, by July 2018 are desired; however, candidates who have completed a M.S. degree and have prior teaching experience in biomechanics and functional anatomy/kinesiology will be considered.
Candidates must have demonstrated ability for teaching undergraduate coursework in biomechanics, functional anatomy, and human anatomy. A well-equipped biomechanics laboratory is available for teaching and research and opportunities for collaboration exist with faculty in sports medicine, physics, mathematics, and computer science. Candidates will be supported in using the laboratory facilities to engage undergraduate students in research in biomechanics and kinesiology.
