The School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, invites qualified persons with a passion for physical therapy to apply for a full time tenure-track Assistant Professor position.
Within the Human Movement Science Department, the Physical Therapy faculty provide broadly successful educational programs to both pre-professional, professional (DPT) and post-professional students including graduate certificates and a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy. Our experienced faculty enjoy collegial mentoring. Our partnership with exercise science faculty, dedicated research space, vibrant geographic location, and strong clinical and community partnerships provides an ideal environment for new faculty to develop robust and diverse research lines. Position responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, student advising, and university and community service. The area of specialization sought is neurologic physical therapy. The successful candidate will have teaching expertise in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with movement problems due to disease or injury and will value use of diverse teaching methodologies (e.g., online, service-learning, multimodal instruction). The candidate is expected to initiate and maintain a successful program of research, scholarship, service, and community engagement. Candidates must demonstrate experience with and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements are a academic doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, DSc, EdD); clinical experience in physical therapy; and hold or be eligible for Michigan Physical Therapy licensure. Persons who are ABD, planning to complete their doctoral degree by August 15, 2018 are also eligible to apply.
