RE2 Robotics has an open position for development of an exoskeleton assessment system using OpenSim.
RE2 Robotics has an immediate opening for a motivated individual to assist in the development of a simulation system to assess the effect of an exoskeleton on the human subject. This Phase II SBIR project is building on top of the OpenSim biomechanics simulator to model the interaction between the exoskeleton and the user to quantify the ways that the exoskeleton would affect the operator's musculoskeletal system, with the long-term goal of developing a system that can assist in both the analysis and design of an exoskeleton and its control system.
We are looking for a developer to assist in the software development of the simulator, assist in the collection and analysis of data from human subject trials with an instrumented exoskeleton, and validation of the system. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our cutting edge mobile manipulator development.
Requirements:
There is also an opportunity for a Research Scientist level position for the candidate with a Ph.D. in a related field who is interested in leading the development of the next generation of the assessment system and/or new areas of R&D in assistive technologies at RE2.

Requirements:
- OpenSim development experience
- Jython user interface development
- GIT version control experience
- Experience using OpenSim for analysis of human subject trials
- Experience with hardware systems and sensors
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
- Leverages experience to plan and accomplish goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Follows established organizational software standards and procedures as well as proposes and advances new processes
- Works cooperatively with other employees and disciplines to communicate information and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner to support and achieve RE2 goals
- B.S. in biomechanics, computer science, robotics, or related field
