    Masters student position available at Widener University

    The Rehabilitation Biomechanics Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Widener University is seeking applicants for a funded masters position. The lab is equipped with a 16 camera 3D motion capture system, force platforms, wireless EMG system, and an inertial-based motion capture system.

    Dr. Akins’ current research focuses on fall prevention and mobility enhancement of individuals with disability. The student will assist on a funded, collaborative project to determine the effectiveness of temperature control liner materials on long term outcomes of prosthesis use.

    Requirements
    • Undergraduate degree in engineering (biomedical, mechanical, etc.) or related discipline
    • Excellent written and oral communication, strong critical thinking skills, and ability to work independently
    • Transportation to data collection site
    • Ideal candidate will have experience collecting human movement data with research participants, data reduction using Matlab, and statistical analysis.
