    Applications are being accepted for the Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation at Old Dominion University (ODU), Norfolk, VA for fall 2018. Graduate research assistantships are available. The deadline for applications is Mar. 9th.

    The Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation at ODU is designed for students with a kinesiology/exercise science background as well as rehabilitation professionals (athletic trainers, occupational therapists, physical therapists or speech/language pathologists) who are interested in becoming leaders, teachers and researchers in their respective fields. The curriculum's core has a focus on motor control and learning, and biomechanics as applied to the performance of daily functional activities (e.g., balance, gait, reaching and grasping, speech) and sporting activities (e.g., running, tackling), as well as the rehabilitation of individuals with physical or neurological impairments.

    For the graduate assistantships we are especially looking for students interested in doing research in falls and fall prevention, or manipulating a virtual environment to study gait. Although students with other interests are encouraged to apply.

    Highly motivated students who are interested in developing their research skills and understanding of movement control and biomechanics in healthy, aging and patient populations are encouraged to apply.
