    Job Description Summary: Miami University’s Center for Assistive Technology (MU CAT), housed in College of Engineering and Computing, has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow for work focusing on modeling, diagnosis and prediction of human fall and balance disorders. This research is led by multidisciplinary faculty apart of the MU CAT. The overarching goal of our center is to develop solutions to improve quality of life. www.miamioh.edu/MUCAT

    Duties/Physical Demands: This individual will work closely with the directors of MU CAT to conduct research and develop external grant proposals in support of MU CAT activities. The principal goal of this research is to generate data to develop models for human postural balance and gait. This research requires clinical data collection as well as biomechanical modeling related to this topic.

    Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Kinesiology, or in a field that provides closely allied experience and capabilities; prior experience in motor learning, motor control and biomechanics; experience in the understanding of the neuromuscular consequences of lower extremity injuries and postural control deficits due to musculoskeletal and neurological issues.

    Preferred Qualifications: Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team is critical to the success of this research. Ability to perform excellent research, and have a strong motivation to publish and develop grant proposals.
