1. Introduction
UCAS (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences) focuses on graduate education, whose predecessor was the first graduate school in China. University of Chinese Academy of Sciences-Shenzhen Campus (UCAS-Shenzhen) is developing on the basis of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), CAS, and focuses on postgraduates (including international students), together with elite-undergraduate students.
UCAS-Shenzhen devotes to cultivating international and compound academic leaders and innovative talents with bilingual teaching environment, advanced research/innovation courses, outstanding mentors, and international visiting program.
In this program, the number of students is about 100-150 in total. Doctoral programs commonly last for 3 years. Certificates of graduation and degrees will be awarded to those who have met the requirements of graduation and degree conferment.
2. Majors and Requirements
Computer Science and Technology, Control Science and Technology, Biology.
The focus of our research is on functional biomechanical analysis, clinical image processing, biomechanical product design and simulation in conjunction with computational mechanics and advanced in clinical trial medical devices.
•Proficient in human lower limb joint gait analysis and have experience with EMG measurement.
•Professional knowledge or research background in cardiovascular fluid mechanics, hemodynamics, 3D modeling and simulation, mechanical assisted circulation.
•The best to have experience in the three-dimensional reconstruction of medical image processing and soft tissue image reconstruction.
•The best to have experience in lower extremity kinematics, dynamics finite element simulation and soft tissue simulation research.
3 Application Schedule
Registration Date: Dec 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018 Admission Date: September 2018
4. Entry Requirements
Applicants should: normally have obtained a master's degree from a recognized institution, and satisfy SIAT's requirements on physical fitness for pursuing the postgraduate program.
Knowledge of the Chinese language is not required. Applications with TOEFL or IELTS records (within two years from the examination date) or other relevant English certificates are preferred.
5. Expenses and Scholarship
(1) Expenses
1. Application Fee: RMB 40,000/year (waived)
2. Accidental Injury and Hospitalization Insurance premium: RMB 800/year (waived)
3. Accommodation: 400 RMB/month, bed for double rooms in student dormitories. (Waived)
4. Outpatient service fee is paid according to the insurance scheme of insurance company. Board expenses, travel expenses and other costs of experiments, meetings and trainings beyond the program curriculum are at the student’s own expense.
