    Senior Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineer - [Technical fixed term contract, up to 3 years]

    Added on: 02/03/2018 - Expires on: 31/03/2018The Rehab Technologies Lab at IIT (https://www.iit.it/it/linee/rehab-technologies-inail-iit-lab) is seeking to appoint a full-time senior mechatronic/mechanical engineer (fixed term contract).
    The projects will be a technological challenge in which IIT and an internationally recognized clinical partner will share resources, competencies and motivation to achieve excellent results transferable to the medical field.

    The selected candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team (consisting of experts in engineering, robotics and medicine) that aims to design exoskeletal and prosthetic robotic devices.
    We are looking for highly motivated, outstanding R&D candidates with a relevant Masters Degree. They must have a solid background in mechatronics and/or robotics with minimum 5 years of industrial experience or a PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and an excellent track record of mechatronic designs and implementations.
    Proficiency in hardware design (actuation units, force and interaction sensors, articulated systems), excellent hands-on practical skills and strong competences in mechatronic systems analysis and physical system modeling are essential.
    Experience in one of the following areas will be considered an asset:
    • Exoskeleton, assistive, or wearable robotic devices design
    • Work/academic experience in the clinical environment and with medical devices in a real world scenario
    • Rehabilitation/Haptic devices and tactile/force sensing technologies
    • Compliant robots and innovative actuation systems
    • Articulated legged systems
    • Robotic articulated arms

    The selected applicant will work on the analysis of robot kinematics/dynamics and mechatronic design of novel actuation and sensing components which will ensure the safe functionality and interaction between the subjects and the robotic exoskeletal and prosthetic devices.
    Workplace: Genova
    A competitive salary, dependent on experience, will be offered.
