We are seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to undertake research projects aligned with the goals of an Australian Research Council Linkage Grant examining the role of intrinsic foot muscles in controlling foot mechanics.The position will be based at the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences, The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia and is funded for a period of 24 months.
The successful candidate will work with members of the research team (Dr Luke Kelly, Assoc. Prof Glen Lichtwark, Prof. Andrew Cresswell and Dr Dominic Farris) and postgraduate students in the development of joint research projects related to human muscle function and more broadly sensorimotor performance. The successful candidate will be expect to conduct research, publish scholarly papers and disseminate research to both the scientific community and the general public and industry partners. Applicants should possess a PhD in the area of biomechanics and/or motor control (or evidence of near completion of PhD studies) and have experience using either 3D motion analysis, electromyography, musculoskeletal modelling, ultrasound or other medical imaging. Candidates should also demonstrate strong evidence of a contribution to research, including publications in peer reviewed journals. The position is open to domestic and international applicants.
