  • Post-Doctoral Position in Achilles Tendinopathy Outcomes and Rehabilitation Research

The Tendon Research Group (PI: Karin Grävare Silbernagel) at the University of Delaware, Department of Physical Therapy, is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to work on an NIH funded study. The study is a longitudinal study investigating outcomes in individuals with Achilles tendinopathy treated with a standardized rehabilitation protocol. The successful candidate will be engaged in recruiting and evaluating participants, maintaining a REDCap database, ensuring data quality and study protocol compliance, analyzing data, and disseminating study results. In addition to their role on this specific project, the successful candidate will be expected to take a mentorship role on smaller scale, PhD student-led projects and pursue personal projects in-line with the development of their own research interests.

The Tendon Research Lab is a multidisciplinary lab group dedicated to advancing the understanding of tendon injuries and repair so that tailored treatments can be developed. This is an active lab group comprised of clinicians, PhD students, and undergraduates with a variety of backgrounds – including physical therapy, biomechanics, athletic training, and biomedical engineering.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A PhD in biomechanics, rehabilitation-based research, exercise science, or related field
    • A clinical degree in physical therapy with ability to obtain licensure in the state of Delaware
    • A strong background in human subjects-based, clinical research
    • Enthusiastic approach to mentoring graduate and undergraduate level students
    • Desire to engage as part of an interdisciplinary team

Interested candidates should send a CV with 3 potential references along with a letter of intent outlining their background as it is relevant to the current position and future research and career plans.
