Dr Avril Mansfield is seeking an MSc- or PhD-level graduate student to join her team in September 2018. The student will be based at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. S/he will conduct research in the general area of enabling safe independent mobility for older adults and/or individuals with neurologic conditions, such as stroke. Potential research projects will focus on exploring error and variability in human balance control and/or motor learning.
The successful candidate will have a primary degree in kinesiology or a related field. Previous experience with research involving human participants is an asset. The student’s stipend will be supported by Dr Mansfield’s existing grants; however, the student will be also expected to apply for competitive external scholarships (e.g., NSERC/CIHR). The deadline for international students to apply for September admission has passed; therefore, only Canadian citizens or permanent residents will be considered.
